I received a call from Jill and she wanted to have an "Ice" theme for her bridals. There's a local artist that builds ice castles and he allowed us to use his creation as her backdrop. I was awestruck by the beauty of the location and it fit Jill perfectly. Here are a few of the images:

Jax had a really tough time coming to this world. His mom asked me a few months ago if I would be willing to take pictures of him but because of his health struggles during the first few months of his life, our meeting would have to be postponed. It was well worth the wait. Such a cute lil guy!

Ammie, Melyssa and Addy

I have known Ammie for a long time and have always thought she was a great person but never got to spend much time with her. She contacted me and asked me to take some shots of her and her girls and I jumped at the chance. Her girls are beautiful and love the camera. We had a great time and cant wait till we do it again next year!

Wyatt and Jayli: The Wedding

I know you are looking at the date of their bridals and saying was it really that close together to the wedding...ummm yeah it was but it turned out great! I have to say that this is one of the best times I have ever had shooting a wedding (Yeah I say that a lot), but really! I had the hardest time narrowing down the images to post on here so I'm going to post a lot of them. These two are so perfect for each other and it shows in their images. Take a look:

Jayli and Wyatt - Bridals

OK. All I say is wow! These two are perfect examples of people being made for each other. The energy between Jayli and Wyatt is amazing. That energy made for some great shots of Jayli. She has graceful lines and amazing features and Wyatt is a perfect compliment. Well enough with the talk. Here are the images:

Andres and Lisa: The Wedding

I remember talking to Lisa a few days before her wedding and laughing my eyes out at her humor. She didnt seem nervous at all about the big day around the corner and when the day came, I saw why she was so calm. Family support. Andres and Lisa had family come in from Washington State and Mexico. It was a great wedding filled with great moments. Here are the images.

Im not sure if I have met a bride with more energy and Kathleen. Being around her you cant help but smile! Daven is mellow and cool as the other side of the pillow and together with Kathleen they make a perfect match! Here are some of my favorite images from their special day:

The Smiths

Ok. This shoot has to be in my top 5 of favorites. Of all the shots taken this day, this is the only one I had really any influence on. I wanted an image that showcased the strength of the men in the Smith family. What do you think?

The Todds

Not only are the Todds good friends, they are a great family. I loved shooting them. We had a slight "water casualty" but it was still a fun time!

Jennifer has such a playful personality. She was so nervous about the camera but she warmed up really fast. The light was great and she soon became the hottest thing at the shoot!

Studio Time

So "Alpha" and I went and spent some time shooting "in studio" for a bit. Hillary Jean was our model and needless to say she is great! Wonderful lines and attractive poses. She was a pleasure work with. Thank you Hillary.

Freedom Festival 2009

Red Butte Gardens-

The wedding was amazing, the venue was perfect, and Dan and Mari made the perfect couple. I had such a great time shooting this wedding. Team Alpha does it again.

This months tip comes from a great photographer and an even better friend, Boni Loving. I read this and every word she speaks is enlightening and thought provoking. If it was put better somewhere else, then I have yet to see it.

30 Things I have learned about photography
- By Boni Loving

1. What inspires you about photography… your opinion is important!
2. Have confidence and don’t underestimate yourself.
3. NEVER compare yourself… every photographer is unique.
4. Create your own style… never copy but DO find inspirations in others work.
5. Seek, accept and learn by others giving an honest critique of your images.
6. It is OK to make a mistake… that is how we all learn.
7. Show your work… even if you don’t think it is worthy of viewing.
8. Your thoughts and emotions effect your shooting. What will you express in your images?
9. Set goals for yourself … ones that are achievable.
10. Think outside of the box… challenge yourself, do something different!
11. Find a mentor… one that is honest and patient.
12. You don’t become a good Photographer overnight…everyone starts at the bottom.
13. When in doubt… shoot!
14. Stay calm… don’t stress everything will be all right!
15. Every shooting session is going to be different… not one will be the same.
16. Carry a notepad everywhere you go… write down your ideas and inspirations.
17. Be prepared… realized your battery isn’t charged or you need more memory cards.
18. Take extra clothing… you never know.
19. Always bring the Tri-pod… you may need it.
20. Clean your camera after every shooting session.
21. Go out and shoot, as often as possible… practice makes perfect!
22. Make editing easier… shoot in the RAW.
23. Calibrate your monitor… you will be amazed what you are missing out on.
24. Shoot at different angles and heights… get dirty!
25. Learn to break the rules of photography… not your lens or camera!!!!
26. Get involved in Photography groups and clubs… there is plenty to learn!
27. Read books, magazines and websites about photography.
28. Start a photo blog…
29. No matter what anyone tells you Photography is not a waste of your time.
30. Most important of all…. ENJOY HAVE FUN! ! ! !

Lea is such a rare treasure. Her unique heritage of Native American and Italian combine into a stunning image. Its too bad that this shoot was cut short because of all the rain but she was full of smiles and had me laughing the whole time.
